Highlands gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. Everything went their way against the Bishop Brossart Mustangs as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bluebirds in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won five in a row.

Highlands never let Bishop Brossart on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-15, 27-25, 25-20.

Highlands got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ava Muzumdar out in front who had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Muzumdar has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Gessner, who had 12 digs.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highlands is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Notre Dame Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bishop Brossart, they will head out to square off against Holy Cross at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
