Softball Recap: Forest Wildcats vs. Lake Minneola Hawks

After flying high against Belleview on Thursday, Forest came back down to earth. The Wildcats lost 16-5 to the Lake Minneola Hawks on Monday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Forest got a massive performance out of Mahri Lingle, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Aurora Shifflet, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one double.

Forest's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Lake Minneola, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-7.

Forest and Lake Minneola should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Wildcats (ranked 122nd) will meet Citrus (ranked 297th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lake Minneola will take on Windermere at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (128 vs. 265).
