After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lincoln Lutheran, Syracuse was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Palmyra Panthers. For the Rockets, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Syracuse had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-12, 25-22.

Syracuse's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-11. As for Palmyra, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Coincidentally, Syracuse and Palmyra will both be playing Elmwood-Murdock the next time they take the court. The Rockets will host the Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
