Mattanawcook strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Stearns Minutemen a 19-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Lynx, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

James Trott and Isaac Ritchie made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Trott tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Ritchie tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Trott got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Ritchie got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Ritchie has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Avery Jordan was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Owen Harper, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Mattanawcook always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mattanawcook's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Stearns, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Mattanawcook will take on Houlton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lynx are facing the Shiretowners at the right time seeing as the Shiretowners are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. Stearns does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
