Football Recap: Arleta Mustangs vs. Westchester Comets
Arleta couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 47-12 defeat at the hands of the Westchester Comets on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 54-35 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2019.
Although Arleta took the loss, they still got scores from Christopher Ubaldo and Jose Rosas.
Jayden Hightower looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 200 yards and four touchdowns. Landon Davis helped Hightower out on the ground, rushing for 101 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arleta will challenge Chatsworth at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Arleta focused on turnovers this week as team gave up five on Friday. As for Westchester, they will welcome Huntington Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
