Basketball Recap: Blackwell Falls Short of Jayton in the Playoffs

Blackwell and Jayton squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Blackwell had to settle for second. They took a 49-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jayton Jaybirds. If the Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 49-27 to them when the teams met back in November of 2017, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Blackwell's loss dropped their record down to 23-10. As for Jayton, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-12 record this season.

Blackwell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jayton, they will welcome Irion County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Irion County comes in on 16 and Jayton on four.
