Baseball Recap: St. John's Comes Up Short

After flying high against Woodland on Thursday, St. John came back down to earth. The Islanders lost 19-9 to the Lowcountry Leadership NaviGators on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Islanders in their meetings with the NaviGators: they've now lost four in a row.

Micah Davison made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of St. John's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Antonio Hernandez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

St. John's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Lowcountry Leadership, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-10.

Coming up, St. John's will face off against Bridges Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Buccaneers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Lowcountry Leadership, they will host Timberland at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
