Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for New Hope Christian

New Hope Christian won the last time they faced Powers, and Ava Barnett did her part to make sure it happened again. The New Hope Christian Warriors came out on top against the Powers Cruisers by a score of 36-29 on Saturday with plenty of help from Barnett, who posted 21 points and four steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of New Hope Christian's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Cadence Gonzales, who scored five points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Gonzales is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

The win made it two in a row for New Hope Christian and bumps their season record up to 21-2. As for Powers, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-11.

New Hope Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-37 victory against Adrian on the 25th. As for Powers, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 38-26 loss against Southwest Christian on the 25th.
