Volleyball Recap: Unity Christian Takes a Loss

If Unity Christian was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Galesburg Christian last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights fell 3-1 to Varsity Opponent on Thursday. The Knights have struggled against Varsity Opponent recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 17-25, 25-12.

Cade Holesinger paced Unity Christian's offense, picking up two kills. Holesinger got some help from Grant Merema and his three assists. Britain Haas controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Unity Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Unity Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Quad Cities Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Varsity Opponent has already played their next matchup (against Brighton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
