Basketball Game Preview: Park City Miners vs. Tooele Buffaloes

Park City is 1-9 against Tooele since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Park City Miners will host the Tooele Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m.

Park City is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against Cottonwood, falling 46-25. The Miners were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kalynn Nickell, who posted seven points. Another player making a difference was Hadley Flach, who had five points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Tooele, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-43 victory over Ogden on Friday.

Park City better keep an eye on Halle Hogan. She was instrumental in Tooele's win, putting up 16 points in addition to five assists and five boards. That's the most boards Hogan has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Camila Lora, who put up six points along with 11 boards and five steals.

Tooele smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Tooele's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Park City, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
