Baseball Recap: Belchertown Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Belchertown barely beat Amherst-Pelham Regional the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Orioles blew past the Hurricanes 15-1 on Friday. The Orioles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by seven runs or more this season.

Jake Waller made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. Waller was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Ian McDonald was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Josh Misiaszek also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Belchertown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Belchertown's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Amherst-Pelham Regional, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belchertown will head out to square off against Chicopee at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Amherst-Pelham Regional, they will venture away from home to face off against Monument Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
