Basketball Game Preview: Grantsville Cowboys vs. Ogden Tigers

Grantsville is 7-0 against Ogden since January of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Grantsville Cowboys will head out on the road to face off against the Ogden Tigers at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Grantsville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.

Last Tuesday, Grantsville humbled Ben Lomond with an 81-13 victory. The Cowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matches by 22 points or more this season.

Avery Allred was her usual excellent self, going 5 for 10 en route to 20 points along with seven assists and six steals. The contest was her third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Baylee Lowder, who went 5 of 6 on her way to 14 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Grantsville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Ogden duked it out withUnion on Tuesday. Ogden fell to Union 34-30.

Grantsville pushed their record up to 21-1 with the victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31 points. As for Ogden, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Grantsville against Ogden in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 75-29 win. In that contest, Grantsville amassed a halftime lead of 57-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
