Volleyball Game Preview: Algonquin Regional Titans vs. Westborough Rangers

Algonquin Regional is 0-10 against Westborough since September of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Titans will venture away from home to challenge the Rangers at 5:30 p.m.

Algonquin Regional lost 3-0 to Natick on Friday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-14, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Westborough was able to grind out a solid victory over Grafton on Friday, taking the game 3-1.

Westborough had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-19, 25-13, 25-13.

Algonquin Regional's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Westborough, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Algonquin Regional has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.8 aces per game. However, it's not like Westborough struggles in that department as they've been averaging 14.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Algonquin Regional might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Westborough in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
