Basketball Game Preview: Owen Valley Patriots vs. Northview Knights

Owen Valley is 1-9 against Northview since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The two teams will face off at 6:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Owen Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 65-12 victory over Indianapolis Washington. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 25 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Northview came tearing into Friday's match with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Cadets with points to spare, taking the game 48-34.

Owen Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points over those games. As for Northview, their win bumped their record up to 19-6.

Owen Valley suffered a grim 47-22 defeat to Northview in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Northview's Carlee Schrader, who went 6 for 14 on her way to 15 points in addition to six boards and five steals.
