Softball Recap: Green Ridge Finds Home Field Redemption Against Stover

There's no place like home for Green Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Stover Bulldogs on Tuesday. Considering the Tigers have won six matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lc Box made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Kayden Box was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kali Young, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Green Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stover only posted a batting average of .150.

Green Ridge pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Stover, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Green Ridge has already played their next game (against Osceola), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Stover, they will welcome Warsaw at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
