After flying high against Killeen last Thursday, Brenham came back down to earth. The Brenham Cubs lost to the Gilmer Buckeyes on the road by a 51-37 margin on Friday. The contest marked the Cubs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Waco is coming into the matchup with three straight defeats on the road, meaning Brenham will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Gilmer, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pittsburg at 7:00 p.m. on October 11th. Gilmer is facing Pittsburg at the right time seeing as Pittsburg is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
