Softball Game Preview: Holmes Bulldogs vs. Notre Dame Academy Pandas

Holmes hasn't had much luck against Notre Dame Academy recently, but that could start to change on Sunday. The Bulldogs will take on the Pandas at 2:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Holmes is headed into Sunday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Holy Cross, falling 24-16.

Meanwhile, while Notre Dame Academy put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Boone County. The Pandas put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pandas, who have now won six matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Notre Dame Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Holmes, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

Holmes suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Notre Dame Academy when the teams last played back in March. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
