Basketball Recap: Anclote Takes a Loss

If Anclote was riding high fresh off their 66-22 takedown of Angeline Academy of Innovation last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Anclote Sharks took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cypress Creek Coyotes on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Coyotes : they've now lost three in a row.

Cypress Creek's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Manuel Castro, who posted nine points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Caleb Edmonds, who scored 11 points.

Anclote's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Cypress Creek, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 8-13 record.

Anclote wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 66-40 defeat against Fivay on the 25th. As for Cypress Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-68 loss against Wiregrass Ranch on the 28th.
