Basketball Recap: Simeon Gets the Win

Simeon won the last time they faced Payton College Prep, and Dijiona Berrien did her part to make sure it happened again. Everything went the Simeon Wolverines' way against the Payton College Prep Grizzlies on Friday as the Simeon Wolverines made off with a 72-46 victory thanks in part to Berrien, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 23 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Simeon's points.

Another player making a difference was Janiya Pillow, who posted nine points and six assists. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played.

Simeon's win bumped their record up to 12-13. As for Payton College Prep, they dropped their record down to 5-19 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road.

Simeon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Payton College Prep, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Trinity at 6:30 p.m. on February 11th.
