Volleyball Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends Colby's Winning Streak

Colby was the 3-1 winner over Loyal when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hornets took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greyhounds on Thursday. The Hornets' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-15, 26-28, 25-21.

Daelyn Rieck paced Colby's offense, picking up 28 kills. Rieck got some help from Zoe Kaiser and her 22 assists. Rieck was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Colby's defeat dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Loyal, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Colby will face off against Spencer at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Loyal does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
