Softball Game Preview: Technology Titans vs. Middletown Mustangs

The Technology Titans will venture away from home to take on the Middletown Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Technology lost 33-11 to Upper Lake on Friday. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Isabella Dewald made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Catalina Lopez was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Middletown gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They blew past Willits 15-5. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Brooklyn Wood made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Wood was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Middletown got a big performance out of Tallulah Madrid, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Ally Cherry, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Middletown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Technology took their win against Middletown when the teams last played back in March of 2017 by a conclusive 13-0. Does Technology have another victory up their sleeve, or will Middletown turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
