Football Game Preview: Lackawanna Trail Lions vs. Tri-Valley Bulldogs

The Lackawanna Trail Lions will face off against the Tri-Valley Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lackawanna Trail knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Tri-Valley likes a good challenge.

Lackawanna Trail is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Nativity BVM 50-6. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.

Isaac Ryon produced another solid performance rushing for 212 yards and six scores on only ten carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Tri-Valley and Marian Catholic had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against Marian Catholic on Friday, sneaking past 3-0. The three-point effort marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Lackawanna Trail's record now sits at 10-1. As for Tri-Valley, their record is now 7-4.

Everything came up roses for Lackawanna Trail against Tri-Valley in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 42-0 victory. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
