Ironwood Ridge proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the Salpointe Catholic Lancers 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Nighthawks as they're now sitting on three straight.

Ironwood Ridge took Salpointe Catholic into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-10, 17-25, 24-26, 15-7.

Ashlyn Quiri paced Ironwood Ridge's offense, picking up 23 kills. Quiri got some help from Lydia Litkenhus and her 30 assists. Aubrey Schultz controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Salpointe Catholic's loss came despite strong showings from Brooklyn Burgle and Kiki Muehlebach. Burgle had five digs and two aces, while Muehlebach had seven digs and two aces. Burgle has been hot recently, having also posted 15 or more assists the last three times she's played.

Ironwood Ridge's win bumped their record up to 17-15. As for Salpointe Catholic, with the defeat, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 24-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Ironwood Ridge will challenge Campo Verde at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Salpointe Catholic, they will take on Desert View at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
