Baseball Recap: Aloha Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Aloha ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 10-6 win over the Westview Wildcats. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

David Hoskins was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Aloha is undefeated when Hoskins allows one or fewer earned runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Hoskins was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joaquin Luna, who went 1-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jayden Nakamura, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs.

Aloha now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Westview, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aloha will welcome Southridge at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westview, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against McNary at 5:00 p.m. The Wildcats are facing the Celtics at the right time seeing as the Celtics are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
