Basketball Recap: Monarch Sets Scoring Season-High Against South Broward

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monarch). They came out on top against the South Broward Bulldogs by a score of 79-66 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 70-48 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Monarch was led to victory by Benjamin Boutin and Kayden Williams. Boutin almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine boards, while Williams went 8 of 13 on his way to 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Boutin is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Hammond, who went 5 for 9 en route to 12 points and eight boards.

Monarch smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Monarch has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for South Broward, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
