Soccer Game Preview: Hewitt-Trussville vs. Oak Mountain

Hewitt-Trussville is 0-10 against Oak Mountain since April of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Hewitt-Trussville Huskies will challenge the Oak Mountain Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Hewitt-Trussville will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Friday, then bounced right back against Crossville on Tuesday. Hewitt-Trussville put the hurt on Crossville with a sharp 4-1 victory. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Lions are ranked 46th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Oak Mountain put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Hoover as Oak Mountain made off with a 4-1 win. Gabe Capocci had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Eagles.

Oak Mountain's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those six games. As for Hewitt-Trussville, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Hewitt-Trussville suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Oak Mountain in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Hewitt-Trussville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
