Football Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 49-13 loss at the hands of the San Joaquin Memorial Panthers. The Grizzlies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from Quincy Moore, who picked up 117 receiving yards and one TD.

Central now has a losing record of 1-2. As for San Joaquin Memorial, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Central will venture away from home to take on Modesto Christian at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Grizzlies will be up against the Crusaders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.6 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for San Joaquin Memorial, they will head out to challenge Justin Garza at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The contest will give the Panthers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
