Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Rancho

Rancho extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Jakoi Lide. The Rancho Rams walked away with a 68-55 win over the Cimarron-Memorial Spartans on Saturday thanks in part to Lide, who went 11 for 25 on his way to 30 points. The matchup was his seventh in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmad Koroma, who posted ten points and five steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.

Rancho is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points per game. As for Cimarron-Memorial, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rancho will take on Palo Verde at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Palo Verde has won three straight at home, while Rancho won 14 straight on the road dating back to last season), something that'll have to change. As for Cimarron-Memorial, they will face off against Del Sol at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Cimarron-Memorial's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.
