Baseball Recap: Walton Comes Up Short

The matchup between Walton and Bay on Thursday hardly resembled the 4-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Walton Braves lost 18-11 to the Bay Tornadoes. Even if the Braves couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Timmy Busby was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with four RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Ceaton Ealum also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Busby wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Walton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Walton's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Bay, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-3.

Coming up, Walton will welcome Northview at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bay, they will venture away from home to challenge Rutherford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be Rutherford's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
