Baseball Game Preview: Reese Rockets vs. Cass City Red Hawks

The Reese Rockets will challenge the Cass City Red Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Reese's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Cass City's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Reese and Millington have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Rockets fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 5-4.

Meanwhile, Cass City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Croswell-Lexington. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Red Hawks have suffered against the Pioneers since May 20, 2022.

Cass City saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Anthes, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Reese's loss dropped their record down to 4-3-1. As for Cass City, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.

Reese beat Cass City 7-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Red Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
