Softball Recap: Benet Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Benet Academy had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Rock Island Rocks by a score of 8-3 on Saturday.

Noel Klody made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Klody was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That RBI was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Benet Academy got a big performance out of Marikate Ritterbusch, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs. Alaina Rosner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Benet Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Rock Island, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-8.

Benet Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-1 defeat against Roncalli on the 3rd. As for Rock Island, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-0 win against Oak Forest on the 3rd.
