League recap: Sammons dominating on the mound for Hoggard

4A Mideastern's top pitcher this week was Hoggard's Bryan Sammons. He racked up four strike outs this week.

First place in the league belongs to the Vikings, which have compiled a 19-4 overall record to go with their 9-1 league record. New Bern sits 4 games back in second, with a 5-5 record in league play.

Hoggard's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 14 hits and five walks, both of which led the league.

The Vikings' Sammons led the league in strikeouts this week with four. With 98 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks first in the league.
