Baseball Game Preview: Teurlings Catholic Rebels vs. Berwick Panthers

The Teurlings Catholic Rebels will challenge the Berwick Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Teurlings Catholic is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

On Saturday, Teurlings Catholic had just enough and edged out Opelousas Catholic 5-4.

Zan Johnson looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Will Power was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Berard, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Berwick made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bourgeois on Saturday. Berwick blew past Bourgeois 13-3. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Teurlings Catholic pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Berwick, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Teurlings Catholic took their win against Berwick in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0. Does Teurlings Catholic have another victory up their sleeve, or will Berwick turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
