Basketball Recap: Manchester Takes a Loss

Manchester was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 53-20 loss at the hands of the Mogadore Wildcats. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.

Amelia Morris continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mogadore, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Morris is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 20 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Julie Tompkins, who went 5 of 8 en route to 13 points.

Manchester's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Mogadore, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Manchester and Orrville will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Orrville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Mogadore will take on Rootstown in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rootstown knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Mogadore likes a good challenge.
