Recap: Lyons Lions vs. Nickerson Panthers

The Lyons Lions's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 49-37 win over Nickerson. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lyons also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Nickerson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Taylor Engelland. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. It was the first time this season that Engelland grabbed two or more steals.

Lyons' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Nickerson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lyons will take on Hoisington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Nickerson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pratt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pratt will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Nickerson surely won't give up without a fight.
