Volleyball Recap: Clever Comes Up Short

After flying high against Forsyth on Tuesday, Clever came back down to earth. The Blue Jays fell just short of the Fair Grove Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Jays in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Clever wouldn't go down easily and took Fair Grove into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-14, 21-25, 23-25, 15-11.

Bella Argo paced Clever's offense, picking up 15 kills. Argo got some help from Lauren Bos and her 17 assists.

Clever's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8-2. As for Fair Grove, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-8.

Coming up, Clever will welcome Buffalo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fair Grove, they will be taking part in a tournament against Glendale at 10:50 a.m. on Saturday.
