Baseball Recap: Green Lake/Princeton Starts off Right with Win over Berlin

Green Lake/Princeton had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They had just enough and edged out the Berlin Indians 4-2. This was payback for the Tigersharks, who suffered a 10-9 loss the last time these two teams met.

Kyle Bond made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Aidan Luepke was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Grant Bartol, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Berlin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Green Lake/Princeton and Berlin will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Tigersharks are set to take on their familiar foe Markesan at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Berlin will challenge rival Ripon at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
