Volleyball Recap: Christopher Takes a Loss

After flying high against Leigh last Thursday, Christopher came back down to earth. The Cougars fell just short of the Ann Sobrato Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Christopher actually scored more points across those five sets (107-93), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 28-26, 11-25, 25-20, 15-11.

When it comes to explaining why Christopher lost, don't look at Juliet Tassio. Despite the final result, she had 13 digs and three aces. Tassio has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played. Kiely Jantz also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Leading Ann Sobrato to victory were Sophia Chattha and Madeline Blair. Chattha had 11 digs and five aces, while Blair had 17 digs and two aces. Those five aces gave Chattha a new career-high.

Christopher's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Ann Sobrato, their record is now 9-10.

Christopher didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Branham on the 30th. As for Ann Sobrato, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Evergreen Valley on the 30th.
