EAST PEORIA, Ill. -
Metamora (Ill.) had a comfortable lead entering the fourth quarter, but used 19 fourth quarter points to seal the 36-8 victory over
East Peoria (Ill.).
After taking the lead on a
Nick Holman touchdown run in the first quarter, the Redbirds were up 9-0 at the half.
Metamora grew its lead to 16 points entering the fourth quarter. MHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by Holman.
Tim Brennan and Holman ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Raiders. Brennan scored two touchdowns on the ground and Holman added two as well.
East Peoria's lone touchdown came on a 30-yard run by
Gunner Merritt in the fourth quarter.
A 49-7 Metamora victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
East Peoria (2-2) goes up against Canton in a Mid-Illini game matchup next week, while Metamora (2-2) locks horns with Dunlap also in a Mid-Illini game.
