Basketball Game Preview: Orange County Fighting Hornets vs. Albemarle Patriots

Orange County hasn't had much luck against Albemarle recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Orange County Fighting Hornets will head out to face off against the Albemarle Patriots at 7:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Orange County didn't have quite enough to beat Goochland and fell 43-41.

Meanwhile, Albemarle blew past Louisa County, posting a 66-35 victory. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.

Albemarle is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Orange County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Orange County suffered a grim 73-50 defeat to Albemarle when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Orange County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
