Basketball Recap: Neuse Charter Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Neuse Charter duked it out withHobbton on Tuesday. The Neuse Charter Cougars lost 68-48 to the Hobbton Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered since December 9, 2024.

Despite the loss, Neuse Charter still got an impressive performance from Donolyjah Tyrell, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. Tyrell is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Klayton Tew, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Neuse Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in seven consecutive matchups.

Hobbton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amir Tate, who posted 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Richard Simpson, who scored 14 points.

Neuse Charter's record now sits at 10-10. As for Hobbton, their record is now 6-10.

Neuse Charter has already played their next contest, an 81-54 loss against Lakewood on the 5th. As for Hobbton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-56 win against Rosewood on the 5th.
