It was a good run, but Northeast unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Belton Pirates by a score of 3-2. While the Vikings didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Pirates 25-20 in the first set.
Northeast actually scored more points across those five sets (109-94), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 20-25, 27-25, 25-23, 7-25, 15-11.
Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7-2. As for Belton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-13-3.
After both having extra time off, Northeast and East will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Belton, they will host Raymore-Peculiar at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
