Basketball Recap: Woodlake Takes a Loss

Woodlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Corcoran Panthers, falling 87-31. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-20.

It was another big night for Javon Bragg, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards for Corcoran. Bragg is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last 14 games he's played. Brandon Escobedo was another key player, going 6 for 14 en route to 17 points along with six boards and four steals.

Woodlake's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Corcoran, their victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-6.

Woodlake is taking a road trip to take on Granite Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Corcoran, they will challenge Wonderful College Prep Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Corcoran knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Wonderful College Prep Academy likes a good challenge.
