Basketball Recap: Spirit HomeSchool Takes a Loss

Spirit HomeSchool has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 67-64 heartbreaker at the hands of the James River HomeSchool Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Warhawks have suffered since December 5, 2023.

Spirit HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for James River HomeSchool, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spirit HomeSchool won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Legacy Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Legacy Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 games -- so hopefully Spirit HomeSchool likes a good challenge. As for James River HomeSchool, they and New Bridge Academy will face off at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.
