 After a string of 17 wins, South Jones's good fortune finally ran out  in Friday's  second game. They fell just short of the North Pike Jaguars by a score of  8-6. South Jones was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as North Pike apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  in Friday's  first game.
 South Jones got a good showing from  Micah Coutta, who   pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits.
 On the hitting side,  Cambridge McDaniel and  Chase Billiot did some serious damage despite the final result:  McDaniel  scored a  run while going 3-for-4, while  Billiot  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-3.
 On North Pike's side, they let  Grayson Reeves and  Leyton Henagan loose on the outfield. Reeves  scored a  run while going 2-for-4, while  Henagan  scored a  run while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Dominic Smith, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
 South Jones' loss  ended  a  seven-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 22-4. As for North Pike, their victory bumped their record up to 11-13.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Jones will take on Pearl River Central at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. South Jones will be looking to keep their 15-game home win streak  dating back to last season alive. North Pike will take on Wesson at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. North Pike is facing Wesson at the right time seeing as Wesson is stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
