Recap: Santee Warriors vs. Wakefield Trojans
On Thursday, Santee ended up a good deal behind Wakefield and lost 59-40. Santee has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Santee saw an underclassman step up: Miley Pike scored 20 points. Pike scored a full 50% of Santee's points, the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Johnson, who scored ten points.
Santee's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Wakefield, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Santee is on the road again on Friday and play against Ponca at 2:30 p.m. on December 29th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Ponca is ranked 158th, while Santee is ranked 176th). As for Wakefield, they will be playing at home against Woodbury Central on Thursday. Woodbury Central comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
