Softball Recap: West York Area's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

West York Area had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Spring Grove Rockets on Tuesday, sneaking past 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since March 25, 2024.

Maddie McGlynn was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayleigh Becker, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one triple.

West York Area's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Spring Grove, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
