Basketball Recap: McKinley Comes Up Short

After a string of five wins, McKinley's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 74-73 to the Washington Tigers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (62), the Bulldogs still had to take the loss.

McKinley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Chavers, who went 8 of 14 en route to 16 points and eight boards. Chavers' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ed Webster, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.

McKinley's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3. As for Washington, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

McKinley has already played their next game, a 75-56 victory against GlenOak on the 24th. As for Washington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 77-47 win against Perry on the 24th.
