Baseball Game Preview: California Grizzlies vs. Skyline Titans

The California Grizzlies will face off against the Skyline Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. California will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Friday, California beat Freedom 5-1.

Ryan Giffins was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Giffins was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

California was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February.

Moreau Catholic hit Skyline with a four-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Titans fell 10-5 to the Mariners. The Titans have struggled against the Mariners recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

California's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Skyline, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
