Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Esperanza). They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Sunny Hills Lancers 9-7. That's more bragging rights for the Aztecs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jackson Tanner looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jacob Santos, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Wiley Garcia was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

Esperanza kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sunny Hills only managed five hits.

Esperanza's record is now 5-7. As for Sunny Hills, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
